Frequently asked questions

Signing up and renewing

How do I sign up to access resources?

You can sign up for free, or subscribe to any of our subject areas, from our membership page. We offer a choice of individual, department, school or MAT subscriptions. For individual subscriptions, please join and pay securely online with a payment card; for a department, school or MAT subscription you can pay online with a payment card, or pay by invoice.

Where is my activation email?

When you join as a free member, we will send you an activation email. If this hasn’t arrived in your Inbox within one hour of registration, please check your spam folder. Still not received it? Please either try registering again, or contact us.

What is my username?

Your username is usually your email address, unless we have set up a standard username for you for your first login. If you would like us to remind you of your email address, please do get in touch.

How do I renew my department subscription?

We will get in touch with you between six to eight weeks before your subscription renewal date, inviting you to resubscribe.

How do I update my payment details or upgrade my subscription?

Go to My Account where you’ll be able to update your payment details or upgrade your membership type.

How do I cancel my recurring payment?

You can cancel your next payment to Teachit by logging in and navigating to your ‘My Account’ area. From there, you can cancel your recurring payment.

Why was my transaction declined?

Transactions are sometimes declined due to an invalid card number or insufficient funds. Or the issue may be that two-factor authentication is now required. Please verify with your bank that you have registered for two-factor authentication and then try your purchase again.

Membership

What's the difference between Free, Basic and Premium membership?

Free membership gives you 3 PDF downloads per month. Basic membership includes unlimited downloads of adaptable resources. Premium adds teaching packs, template packs and classroom posters to unlimited downloads.

How do the monthly PDF downloads work with Free membership?

Free members receive 3 PDF downloads each month. These reset on the first day of each month and don't roll over. Once you've used your downloads, you'll need to wait until next month or upgrade to continue downloading.

Can I access all subjects with my subscription?

For secondary teachers, subscriptions are subject-specific. You'll first choose between primary or secondary, and then secondary teachers select their specific subject area. Teachers who cover multiple subjects may need separate subscriptions.

Can I share resources with my department?

While you can use downloaded resources in your own teaching, memberships are individual and shouldn't be shared across departments. Each teacher needs their own subscription to access and download resources. For multiple users, consider a School Department subscription that provides individual logins for all teachers.

How do I upgrade my membership?

You can upgrade at any time by clicking the 'Upgrade' button at the top of the page, or by going directly to our subscribe page. If you have a discount code, enter this at checkout.

Problems logging in

Why can’t I log in?

If this is your first time using the new version of our website, you will need to reset your password before you can log in.

If you are still having problems logging in, please check that your username (usually your email address) and password are correct, caps lock is off and that there are no hidden spaces within the username and password fields.

If you are still having problems logging in, please get in touch.

How do I change my password?

Once logged in, you can change your password in your ‘My Account’ area.

Problems resetting your password

If you have requested a password reset and the email has not arrived, first check your junk or spam folder.

If you still don't see it, please contact [email protected] and ask for a password reset link.

Accessing resources

What does 'adaptable resources' mean?

Adaptable resources come in editable formats (like Word documents or PowerPoints) that you can modify to suit your teaching needs. Free members can only access PDF versions, while Basic and Premium members can edit and customise resources.

What are teaching packs and how are they different from regular resources?

Teaching packs are comprehensive collections of resources designed around specific topics or units of work. They include everything needed to teach a particular subject area, including lesson plans, worksheets, and activities. These are exclusively available to Premium members.

How do I find a specific resource?

There are two levels of search on the site. At the top of the page, our main search field covers all of our seven subject areas (primary, and secondary English, maths, science, languages, geography and history) across the whole site. Further down the page, there is a subject-specific search bar which will only display results from your chosen subject area. Remember that you will only be able to access the resource types included with your level of membership.

How do I download a resource?

Simply double click on a resource icon to open resources appropriate to your level of membership.

How do I access my digital teaching pack?

Our teaching packs are included with premium subscriptions. If you are not a premium subscriber, you can buy packs individually online. Once purchased, your digital pack will be available for you to download in your Order History tab within My Account. Please check your Spam folder if you haven't received it. If it's still not been delivered, please do contact us.

Are answers included?

All of the resources on our site are written by teachers and, where appropriate, answers are included in our resources. However, the subjective nature of some of the subject areas often makes this difficult, or impossible, to do. Where answers are clearly right or wrong, we do ask our contributors to include them, but often (with English or History, for example), possible answers are so numerous that providing a standardised solution would ultimately be impossible (and probably unhelpful).
